Betty Ford's 3-year-old face lift has touched off a legal skirmish between her plastic surgeon and another doctor over the question of who may claim credit for the former first lady's new look.

Dr. M.R. Mazaheri of Palm Springs, Calif., is seeking general damages and an injunction against Dr. Borko Djordjevic, a plastic surgeon who also practices in Palm Springs.

In a suit filed Tuesday in Indio, Calif, Mazaheri, who was paid $3,200 for his services to Ford, alleges that Djordjevic or others speaking for him have said Djordjevic "performed cosmetic surgery on Betty Ford" or that he performed surgery "to correct damage" done by Mazaheri.

Djordjevic denies that he performed any surgery on Ford or that he has claimed to have done any. He maintains that he has never said anything derogatory about Mazaheri. Djordjevic called the lawsuit a "publicity stunt" with no basis.

Ann R. Cullen, secretary to the former first lady, who lives in Rancho Mirage, Calif., sent a letter to Mazaheri that said in part: "The surgery that you have performed has been the only surgery that she Ford has undertaken."

Arne Cheyenne Johnson, the 19-year-old tree surgeon who claimed he had been possessed by demons, was sentenced to 10 to 20 years' imprisonment for killing his landlord.

Connecticut Superior Court Judge Robert Callahan said Johnson showed no remorse for the Feb. 16 stabbing of Alan Bono, 40, in nearby Brookfield.

During the trial, Johnson's lawyer, Martin Minnella, tried to prove Johnson had been acting under the influence of demons and thus was not responsible for the knifing.

But Callahan did not allow that defense, calling it "unscientific" and "irrelevant." The jury convicted Johnson of first-degree manslaughter.

A thousand mourners attended the funeral in Moscow yesterday of movie star Zoya Fyodorova, who was found shot to death in her apartment on Kutuzovsky Prospekt a week ago. Official documents blamed robbers for the shooting of the 68-year-old actress.

Ronald D, Roberts, 37, son of evangelist Oral Roberts, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of odtaining a controlled drug by forged prescription.

Roberts entered his plea before Tulsa County District Judge Richard Armstrong. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered for Roberts, a first offender. Armstrong will review the report and formally sentence Roberts Feb. 1.

The offense, a felony, can carry a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

As part of plea negotiations, the district attorney's office agreed to dismiss two other counts of forging a prescription.

Roberts, an antique dealer, was arrested in early September and charged with forging prescriptions on three occasions last winter to obtain Tussionex, a drug generally used to control coughs.

The charges alleged Roberts obtained 500 tablets of the drug over a three-week period in February and March by presenting three different forged prescriptions at a pharmacy.

Comedian Bob Hope plans to make an appearance Monday at the Long Beach (Calif.) Veterans Hospital -- a day after his Christmas special on NBC.

Loni Anderson, Barbara McNair, Gloria Loring and Hope's wife, Dolores, will also entertain patients at the hospital.

Hope, who plans to celebrate Christmas at his Palm Springs home, hasn't made an overseas Christmas tour since 1972.
